Apply marketing in the organization of local self-government, according to Prof. Dr. Igor Novakovic, is to accept the new concept of thinking, be responsible on own work, perform own work or service in the best possible way, because it expects a citizen-customer. This is just part of leadership strategy of our City Municipality of Palilula in Nis, which is successfully applied for several years. Openness and transparency, cooperation and support to all categories of citizens, the adoption of high standards of quality in the work of the Administration, establishing 48-hour info-service is just a part of projects that were in the best way promoted the work of this organization of local self-government of the City of Nis.

One of the publishing projects, which is part of this strategy of building a "comparative identity" of Palilula Municipality is and the booklet "My Palilula". In this publication, which was printed in several thousand copies at 24 pages are presented potentials and resources of Palilula. After the text of the territory, population structure and geo-strategic position of the municipality Palilula, which has more than 90,000 people, this edition begins with an editorial by President Prof. Dr. Igor Novakovic, followed by sections on infrastructure, investments, projects, population, resources, transparency.

"It's been less than three years of constitution of our Assembly in the new session and election of new management in City Municipality of Palilula-said in its editorial president Novakovic. Numerous implemented projects and the positive business, investment in the industrial area of ​​Donje Međurovo and employment opportunities are just some of the success of Palilula Municipality in the past. Our strategies and adopted a standard of quality in the work of Administration, as well as support of the City, only facilitate and expedite the decision of potential investors and donors to invest in our development. We achieved a goal that citizens of Palilula can be included in all activities of the municipality, but also to find out what their needs and problems are. Thanks to the suggestions of the Citizens` Council in our Building Program was incorporated number of amendments, so that more infrastructure problems successfully with solved this cooperation. I hope that the inhabitants of the Municipality are satisfied with the work of our Administration. We reorganized our inspection services for more efficient resolution of claims of citizens and better results on the ground. The biggest success in the field of social welfare we expect from the realization of the municipal project "Strengthening of municipal capacity to improve quality of life for socially vulnerable groups" from the program EXCHANGE 3. Soon we expected "spring cleaning" and arrangement of the memorial complex "Bubanj" with the support of the European Union.
